FM 2016 Icelandic Youth Academy Challenge Part 2

Part one of our Icelandic Youth Academy Challenge, saw us introducing the squad. We had played the majority of the first season in charge and we also had our first intake of youth players. The aim for the first season was to survive. I am pleased to say that we managed to do this. We ended up finishing in 10th position. I am confident we can play better next season and that we will be able to get a few more wins to push us up the table.

Our form throughout the season was very much a mixed bag. We went through long periods of not losing games and then stages when we could not score or get any momentum going. It is tough to try and find players to make a change when we need something to happen, for most of the season we could barely put out a team and since we had the youth intake happen, we are now relying on 15-16 year olds to try and make a difference for us.

Below are two of the players I have most hope for from our first years youth intake.

One thing that we will need to focus on to make sure the club can push forward is if we do get any youth players that are good enough to move on from the club that we get a decent amount of money for them and that the money can be invested back into the academy. We have had an offer for one of our youth players, unfortunately he didn't want to stay at the club and his contract was running out so I needed to sell him.

He had just got a call to play for the Iceland under 19 team, so he is a good player but we will need to try and adapt to situations like this. To round off this post, I will put a screenshot of the player statistics for our 2016 season (I have sorted the players by average rating).
