Football Manager - How To Keep Rotational Players Happy

How do you keep rotation players happy

When playing football manager you will often have a number of players in your squad with different squad roles. One of the type of squad roles you will have in your team is going to be rotational players. In order to make sure that you keep rotational players happy within your squad, there are a few different things you are able to do to make sure that their morale does not drop.

The question is: How do you keep rotation players happy?

Play Them! Even Players Who Are Squad Rotation Players Need Love.

One of the most obvious ways to make sure that you are keeping your squad rotation players happy is to play them. This goes without saying. It will often be a good idea when you are playing easier League or cup games to make sure that you are playing your rotational players. If you are not able to play rotational players on a regular basis I would highly recommend that you give them the odds 20 minute appearance as a sub, or at least play them in games where you are expected to win.

Praise Conduct - When They Do Play Well Let Them Know

When you do play your rotational players it is often going to be a good idea to praise the way that they play. If they have played well for you it can be a good idea to praise their last game or praise the conduct of the player. If a player is not too happy with the amount of game time he is getting he will often speak to you about why you are not playing him. It is often a good idea to be truthful with the player and if need be tell him that he is not part of your plans. Quite often you can get away with telling him that another player who plays in the same position as the player is playing really well and that is the reason that he is not getting into the team.

Change Squad Status - Tell Them The Truth

When you do sign a new player for your team it is a good idea from the beginning to make sure that you tell him that he will be used as a rotational player. If you sign a player and you tell him that he is going to be a key player but in reality you only play him every so often then of course he is going to be unhappy with how often he is being played. If you sign a player and you intend to use him as a rotational player, just make sure that you tell him this when you sign him.

If you have a player who overtime gets decreased from a key player down to a rotational player, make sure that you update his squad status so that he is very clear exactly how you plan to use him. Making sure that you keep rotational players happy and part of your team is going to be vital. It is not going to be possible to start the same 11 players for every single game, so you need to make sure you do have rotational players in your team. Make sure that they are ready to play for you when called upon.
