Football Manager 2016 Arsenal Guide
In this article we will look in depth at Arsenal on FM 2016. Arsenal are one of the best teams in the Premier League, they have a very strong emphasis on promoting and developing youth players. If you decide to manage Arsenal on Football Manager 2016, you will inherit a very strong team and you will be managing a team with the highest starting transfer budget on the whole game.
With managing Arsenal, the key will be to try and win the Premier League, of course with Arsenal you should be getting in the top 4 and getting into the Champions League each season. Taking that further step and winning the Premier League will be your goal for each season. The starting eleven for Arsenal is very good, but some areas of the team they could do with having a bit more depth. Arsenal have alot of flair players. With the likes of Ozil, Sanchez and Cazorla, Arsenal have some excellent technical players. Alot of people believe that Arsenal lack that killer edge in the middle of the park. In recent seasons Coquelin has stepped up to the mark to fill this role and he has done well, but he is no Vieria.
In recent seasons, Arsenal have managed to introduce a number of English players into their first team. Jack Wilshere, unfortunately for him seems to have no luck with injuries, hopefully he can get over his injury issues and try to reach his full potential.
From the Arsenal academy, Alex Iwobi has recently broken into the first team. He looks to be a very good player and it seems like he will have a bright future.
If managing Arsenal, you will need to ensure you make the most of your technical and flair players, technically, Arsenal have fantastic players, but you do need to get a good tactic that will work well defensively also. If I created a tactic for Arsenal, I would go for a flat back 4, two holding midfielders, who will be there to win the ball back and then keep it simple, I would have Ozil in the middle behind Giroud and then two wider players. It might be a good idea to just have one wide player with pace, maybe someone like Oxlade-Chamberlain and then have someone else in the middle of the park supporting Ozil, if you could get a player who is willing to help out the defense more, someone like Ramsey or Sanchez, with his high work rate, they might be good options.
Arsenal do have a style of holding onto the ball, I do feel at times they could move the ball around much quicker and they do need to make sure they are putting teams under much more pressure, so I would not always look to hold onto the ball if managing Arsenal, I would get my two holding midfielders and my defense to hold onto the ball and not do any risky passes, but my front 4, I would give them licence to roam and be creative.
