Football Manager How To Deal With The Media

Love it or loath it, when playing Football Manager, one of the aspects its important to get right is your interaction with the media. It is important to stay in the good books of the journalists. If you find that things are not going too well for you then the media are more likely to give you a hard time. You might see some headlines such as "Pressure Building On...[insert name]". Headlines such as these are likely to happen if you do not speak to the media.

On Football Manager it is possible to send your assistant manager to handle press conferences. I do this myself. You will often be asked about certain areas such as transfers or player happiness. If you decide to keep ignoring the media, they will not take too kindly to this, so it is important to make sure you do speak to the media and that you give them the answers they are looking for. If things do not go your way then at least the media will not be calling for you to be sacked.

Tips for dealing with the media on Football Manager

  • Although it can be a pain - make sure you do provide the media with some answers sometimes. Don't keep ignoring the media, or they will quickly be on your back.
  • Try to vary the answers you provide. If you provide a safe answer, often the media will be looking for you to provide a more detailed answer and they will be pushing you for a different answer or more detail.
