Overview of the new FM 2015 features

The new football manager 2015 features video was released recently, this can be viewed below, it details the new features on the game and speaks about how they will effect the game.

1. Football manager 2015 features a new layout, the sidebar has been moved over to the left, this is set to allow sections to be found easier, the search function is set to be a bigger feature in this game.

2. Job interviews are now more indepth on FM 2015, you will need to describe the experience you have and how you are suited to have a role at the club you are being interviewed by.

3. The match engine is getting an over haul on the new football manager, The player movement will be enhanced by the motion capture, professional footballers were filmed on motion capture cameras and their movements are being put into the game. This will make movement more realistic and varied.

4. New player roles are coming in to this new version, this will allow for more variation on the tactics you create and more control to try and tactically outwit your opposing managers. The AI is also said to be more intelligent, reviewing their tactic to the situation of the game.

5. Player search, a massive feature on any football manager game, is set for an overhaul - the player search is set to be easier to use and will enable you to find exactly the type of player you are looking for. Attributes for players you do not know much about are now ranged, so a player who is a striker it might show their finishing as being between 12-15, the more time you scout the player, the more it will narrow down the actual attribute for the player.

6. MOVEMBER! - Players will attempt to grow a tashe for Movember on the game! A great FM 2015 feature

The football manager documentary was shown at UK cinemas last night, part of the documentary was to showcase some of the new additions that will be appearing on Football Manager 2015. We learnt last night that the release date will be the 7th of November, exactly a month from when the documentary was shown.

The FM 2015 features video revealed new 3d match engine highlights, this year the match engine will be using animations that have been created from the movements of professional footballers, this will allow for more realistic movements, especially for goalkeepers. Other optimizations to the 3d match engine on FM 2015 is that players will hit the ball with different parts of their foot, so you will now see players passing with a side foot, the laces or the outside of their foot. Again, this all goes to make the match engine look more realistic. Miles Jacobson, the Studio Director, at Sports Interactive, the creators of the Football Manager series, revealed the match engine is on a 3 year roadmap, where the features will be progressing each year over the next 3 years. So plenty more to come from the match engine.

The FM 2015 features video also revealed that the interaction with the media will be more realistic, if you are aggressive towards the media or you chose not to answer their questions, they will be more likely to push you for answers and write headlines that you may not like! This will also work that if you play ball with the media and answer the questions in a calm way, they wont push as hard for answers and will leave you alone more when things might not be going to plan.

Interaction with your players is also featured on the FM 2015 features video, you will be able to speak to your whole squad and individuals like normal but if you say the wrong things to your players then you may have a revolt on your hands, where the players morale will decrease and you will have a tough job convincing the players that you are the right person to manage the club and take them forward. The dynamics of the interaction you will have with your staff, the players and media are changing greatly in this new release of football manager. Much more attention will need to be paid to what you are saying and how you are saying it.


There are also improvements to the scouting systems, player preferred moved, there are more positions that can now be selected and finances are more realistic.
