Finding good players for your lower league team on FM 2016
Scouting the best players for your lower league team |
When you are managing a lower league team you will probably only have a couple of Scouts, you need to be making sure you are making the most of your scouts. The way to do this is to scout in the nation that you are managing in. It will be a good idea to scout the loan market and look for free transfers. In this article I am going to give you my best tips for finding players for your lower league team on Football Manager 2016.
My first tip is to make sure you know how much wage budget you have got to spend and how much of a transfer budget you have got. If you do need to sell any players, or you need to release any players then it is best to do this when you take over the club. Once you have a good idea of how much money you have to spend this will give you a better idea of what players to scout.

Although you might not have a lot of money to spend on transfers, it's a good idea to keep an eye on players that are on the transfer list. The trick is to find players under the age of 23 who you can see have good potential, but could also do a good job for your first team now. I do tend to look for players who are 20 years and older as you have a better idea of how these players will develop.
I would highly recommend that you try and get a good parent club as an affiliate. Being able to get good players on loan is going to be essential in making your club successful. A really good tip is to go to every big club in the nation you are managing in and get a team report. The team report will allow you to see which players you might be able to get on loan.
Where possible I recommend scouting competitions. It is a good idea to look at player stats, for example, if you sort by average rating you can sometimes find good players to buy for your team. It can also be a good idea to look for players who have scored a lot of goals or created a lot of assists.
Although it can be hard to find good players when you are managing a lower league team, you need to remember that you are building a squad of players for the long run. This means that you need to look for players who have a good personality and that might be able to tutor younger players that you have in your team.
When you are looking for players, you need to remember that in the lower leagues physical attributes are more important than technical ones. Of course if you can find a player who has good technical attributes, as well as having good physical and decent mental attributes then you should look to sign this type of player.
