Understanding Player Preferred Moves on FM 2016
Football Manager YouTuber FoxInTheBox recently released a video where he provides a better understanding on player preferred moves on football manager 2016.
Player preferred moves are additional elements that you can add to your players. This is broken down into different categories, from movement, passing and defending. There are additional areas also that you can train your players to learn.
The basic concept of the player preferred moves is that if you have a player with high flair, dribbling and acceleration skills, you can get them to run with the ball more often to make the most of their attributes. The key thing when training a player with a preferred move is to think about if the player is capable of learning the moves and also how it will effect your tactics.
If for example, you have a winger who is skilful, but lacks pace, then it would not be a good idea to tell him to knock the ball past opponent as he does not have the pace to be able to do this. You might want to tell the player to run with the ball down the left/right flank (depending on which wing he is on). That way you can make the most of his high skill attributes, but you are not asking him to rely on his pace.
