January transfer window FM 2015

During the month of January the transfer window opens to a flurry of transfer rumours, every man and his dog seems to be linked with Chelsea or Man City. The vast majority of the rumours will not be true, however when playing football manager 2015, it is important to make sure you are ready for the January transfer window and to prepare as best as possible for players that are on your shortlist. I will list below my tip tips for making sure you are ready to deal with the rumours and gossip!

GUIDE FM 2015 January Transfer Window

From the beginning of November make sure your scouts are looking and scouting the targets you are interested in. Make sure you have in-depth knowledge of the players you are interested in signing. It is no good getting to January and you can’t see much of the players attributes, or you just sign a player and then realise he is injury prone. You need to make sure you are aware of the player you are looking to sign and make sure you are prepared in advance of the January transfer window.

I would advise to make sure you are scouting for players where their contract is expiring at the end of the season; you can pick up some real bargains if you find players whose contracts are expiring. I would advise to make an enquiry on the player and see what they want for the player and then knock the team down on the first offer they are willing to accept, you will see that most clubs don’t have a leg to stand on and they will accept your transfer offer if it’s reasonable.

Be sure to have good knowledge of the loan market, if you are managing a club who does not have too much money, it will be a good idea to have an idea of the loan market and which players you could sign on loan.

Make sure in advance you know which players you want to leave your club. You might need funds to bankroll your transfer activities, so make sure you transfer any dead wood out of your club as soon as possible.

It’s also a good idea to review which players are not getting as much game time as you would like them to get, if the players are younger you will be able to loan them out to ensure they are developing well. There is no point having a young player not playing football, they need to be playing first team football. It’s a good idea when sending young players out on loan that their physical attributes are where you need them to be, their personality is a decent one, such as professional or spirited. You need to make sure your young players are ready for first team football both mentally and physically.
