Football Manager 2015 Player Search Tips

Football Manager 2015 Player Search Tips
Football Manager 2015 Player Search Tips
When playing football manager the player search screen will be an area of the game you will visit often. This is the place where you can find players to buy and loan. You have a variety of search filters you can use. So if you wanted to search for Brazilian strikers under the age of 23. The player search screen will do this for you. In this article I will provide my top tips for using the player search screen on football manager 2015.

  • The number of players that you see in the player search screen is directly related to your scouting knowledge.
  • If you have high scouting knowledge of a particular region or nation, the number of players you will find from that area will increase. This can be very useful when you are looking for cheaper players. If you have good knowledge of regions where you can pick up some bargains, for example players in Eastern Europe.
  • Use the player search screen to help find young players. You can of course send your scouts out to Youth competitions to find younger players, but it is always worth viewing players under the age of 18 and getting a quick scout report. Usually the more expensive players will be the better ones, but you will always find bargains.
  • If you are managing a lower league team, the loan market will be an area to explore often. Its a good idea to get information on every single player who might be interested in joining you on loan. You can then set filters to find the best of the players you have scouting knowledge on.
  • Make sure you are always setting your scouts to find players who's contracts will be expiring at the end of the season. If you are managing in England, it is a good idea to start your scouts on doing this after the January transfer window has finished. You can then have a number of months trying to find all players who are interested in joining you when their contract expires.
  • Make sure you add a filter to know how much knowledge you have of players, the higher the percentage knowledge the more information you will have on the players. If you do find a player who has good potential, but you only have 10% knowledge of the player, you will want to have at least 70% knowledge of the player.
  • It is a good idea every so often to search for players based upon their asking price. As an example if you set the asking price as no more than £1 million but you see players who's value is well over that value, then it is a good idea to look into these players as you could find you get a decent player for cheap. It is just a matter of comparing the asking price to the value of the player. The bigger the gap the more its worth scouting the player.
  • On football manager 2015, when you have not scouted a player his attributes are likely to be ranged. You might see that his passing attribute is between 12-18, of course this can make a massive difference on if this is the type of player you are looking for. With the ranged attributes, it is always worth lowering the attribute values you are looking for. This can then help you find players who potentially might have a passing attribute of much higher.
